The second year of the Every Child a Writer (ECaW) programme has started well. A large number of authorities delivered their launch meetings in the summer term, with a few catching up early in the autumn term. This has meant that the second year of ECaW getting off to a quick start, with leading teachers already working in schools on their initial visits.

The National Review day will focus on the implementation of Every Child a Writer (ECaW) in local authorities (LAs) with a range of case studies offered across the day to share lessons learned and develop and shape the next stage of the programme.

This year has seen the production of the Every Child a Writer support materials. Including video clips showing writing lessons and tuition sessions, as well as interviews with headteachers, class teachers, leading teachers, tutors and parents, there is also a wealth of materials and case studies to dip into to find out what others in the programme have done and how ECaW has worked in different settings.
